Apple Watch hits the market in April

Apple CEO Tim Cook made the announcement and mentioned the shipping date during an earnings call. This is the company’s first venture into wearable technology after it partnered with Nike to make its fitness gadget. Past rumours said that the Watch will be available some time in March.
The Apple Watch was introduced last September along with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The watch can be paired with an iPhone, one of the latest releases or an older model such as the iPhone 5. However, to take complete advantages of the features of the latest technology from Apple, it is best to pair it with an iPhone 6.
Like Google’s Android Wear smartwatches, the Apple Watch will rely on the iPhone for its internet connection and will not include phone capabilities. The Watch is described by Apple as the “most personal device we’ve ever created”, that includes a heart rate monitor and other features that help in fitness and health tracking which are fed into the health app and data sharing service.
Although we now know when the Apple Watch is available, there are still missed out details such as the battery life of the upcoming Watch. The company has promised that the Watch will last for a whole day on a full charge, however, there are other technology reports that say that the battery on the Apple Watch will last for only 2.5 hours of heavy use.
CCS Insight analyst Ben Wood said, “Apple makes beautiful things and the Watch is beautifully engineered. Combined with its brand credentials it’s going to be a fashion statement and a status symbol with a much broader appeal than current smartwatches.”
