HTC and Google to partner for Nexus 9 Tablet
With several rumours surfacing about the upcoming flagship devices of tech giants, Google’s Nexus 9 tablet is the latest to hit the spotlight.
There are several rumours that the company is partnering with HTC for the development of its Volantis, in other words, Nexus 9 tablet, a premium Android silver device. While there are still rumours about Nexus 6, the next tablet dubbed Volantis has already hit the rumour mills.
Android Police has reported that Google may be in partnership with HTC for making Volantis which is expected to come with an 8.9 inch screen. While the device is referred to as Volantis or Flounder in the open market, it is internally codenamed as Nexus 9.
The website has also leaked an alleged image of the device alongside a few specifications of the device. It is said that the device will come with an 8.9 inch screen offering a 2048×1440 pixel resolution, rounding off at 208 ppi. It would pack an Nvidia Logan 64-bit processor which is also known as Tegra K1 and offer 2MB RAM. Other leaked specifications include an 8MP primary camera with a 3MP front camera, and 16MB or 32 MB storage options.
The device is also said to sport front facing stereo speakers and have an aluminum zero-gap construction. The weight of the device is expected to be in between 418 grams and 427 grams with LTE. Though the site has shared so much about the device, the picture shown and the specifications do not seem to match as the device in the picture doesn’t look like it’s made out of aluminum. Therefore, like other rumours, this has to be taken with a grain of salt.
The website has also said that it has been hearing about the partnership since the beginning of the first quarter this year.
