Jordan all set to release terrorist to set free Jordanian military pilot
After the military pilot of Jordan was captured, the government is preparing to release its longtime prisoner and terrorist Sajida al-Rishawi if ISIS would release Jordanian military pilot Moaz al-Kassasbeh.
Yesterday, ISIS posted a video online linking the fates of the captives and demanding for the release of the terrorist in Jordan prison within 24 hours. The video has the image of the Japanese hostage Kenji Goto who holds the picture of Moaz al-Kassasbeh, the pilot captured by ISIS when his jet crashed in Syria.
The video also has a voice that is reportedly of Goto, saying that he and the pilot will be set free if Jordan is willing to release Sajida al-Rishawi, an Iraqi woman who was on a death row in Jordan as she had a role in the deadly bombings in 2005. The latest message states that if the government doesn’t release her, the lives of the Japanese journalist and Jordanian pilot will be at stake. The authenticity of the video could not be verified.
However, some well known ISIS supporters promoted the message and hence it was concluded that the ISIS had posted the video. The Japanese government has also confirmed that they do not have any evidence to say that the voice was not Goto’s.
Goto’s mother said, “Please save the life of Kenji. I call on you to work with all your strength in negotiations with the Jordanian government, until the very end.”
